My Name is Eva I am 5 years old, and i am starting Kindergarten. On the first day of school, Mrs. Rain has us write our ABCs. Me and mom sing the ABC song in our car on the way to school.
I look at the letters on the chalk board, and down at my paper, I feel puzzled. The words are changing shapes, some letters look the same.
I feel dizzy trying to read the words. I don't want to do the work anymore. I want to give up.
I'm too scared to tell my teacher, so I throw my papers on the floor. Mrs. Rain Yells "Eva, pick those papers up right now! I don't want to listen so I yell "No!."
"Eva, Please go sit at the hallway desk, for five minute." Mrs. Rain says. But I refuse to go and all the student's have to leave the class.
Now I feel worst, but my feeling's are too big and everything is confusing. The principle calls mom to pick me up. I know I am in trouble.
Mom arrives and I finally feel calm. Mom gives me a big hug, and asks me what happened. I tell mom about the big words, the puzzles, and getting dizzy. Then I cry.
Mom holds my hands and asks me if I told my teacher. I say no, I felt afraid instead I chose to Misbehave.
Mom says I am smart and sweet as pie, not a sour apple. So we tell Mrs. Rain what happened.
The next day at school Ms. Luna took me out of class for tests. Everyday I went with Mr. Luna for 2 hours and did tests.
Finally I didn't have to take anymore tests and the teachers knew why I would get dizzy reading words.
I have Dyslexia (dis-lek-see-uh). That's where words look backwards and confusing.
Every day I practice reading and writing with Ms. Luna and I love to learn!
School is fun when you feel understood. Never be afraid to talk to a teacher if your words are mixed up too!
