my culture.

Grandma has always told us before we enter a house, it is best that we take off our shoes and greet her as we come in. We always say "hello, i'm back!"

This is a way of showing respect. Learning to let everyone know that we're home and that we're safe too. When Grandma speaks, everybody listens.

On Holidays, family comes over and we often celebrate together. We share those times by going outside and playing games but we also make time to watch movies during Day of the Dead and create an ofrenda for those who have become lost.

When Grandma talks to us, we always have a good time. She's like a superhero with a lot of different powers. She knows how to make a mess disappear and even knows us inside out. She uses another language to communicate with us but that is how we learn to talk. That is my superpower too.

When we teach others our culture, our way of thinking. Everybody is different, we share the same culture but very few experience the same thing.
