Recital Day

Subjective Label: Lyla is backstage practicing her solo before she steps out in front of the crowd.

Physiological arousal: Lyla's heart rate starts to climb and her stomach starts to turn while her hands start to sweat.

Cognitive Interpretation: Lyla gets on stage and thinks to herself "My heart is racing too fast, I won't be able to do this!"

Behavioral expression: Lyla starts to cry and her cheeks get red from embarrassment.

The James Lange Theory: Lyla saw the croud and became nervous, her nerves then became reality and she got upset.

Marlow's Hierarcy of Needs: These 5 needs were important for Lyla to have during her time of performance. She needed to be rested before the show. She needed to feel safe in order to perform. She needed support from friends & family. She really needed self confidence in herself. Finally, Lyla needed to be able to relax and realize it was all okay. Which she was able to go backstage and calm down and come back out and perform her amazing solo.
