Judaism

Once upon a time, Judaism was different from most religions. Judaism believes in god. They also follow god so god can protect them.

An ancient family or group who believed in only one special god, long, long ago.

Long ago, a special family called the Israelites started a big new idea: they decided to believe in only one god instead of many gods. His name is Yahweh, a name people treat with a lot of love and respect.

Yahweh (Yow Way) is a god. They think he is more powerful than Jesus.

A long time ago, the Jewish people were forced to be slaves in a country called Egypt. A kind leader named Moses asked the king of Egypt.

Called Pharaoh to let them go free. Pharaoh said no many times, but finally he said yes!

The Jewish people had to leave so fast that their bread didn't even have time to rise and get fluffy.

They packed up and safely walked to a new home where they could finally be free.

Today, Jewish people celebrate this brave journey every spring during a holiday called passover.

Passover is a special eight-day Jewish holiday that celebrates freedom. So passover is their favorite holiday.
