I'll Be Your Friend Written by Iris Marmolejo

I am nervous to start 3rd grade at a new school. I hope I can make new friends today.

I got to school extra early to meet my teacher. She showed me where my desk was and she helped me feel less nervous.

My teacher is so nice and loves penguins just like me. She had this cool poster in her classroom.

Why hasn't anyone spoken to me yet. I miss my mom and dad so much. They always make me feel better.

In art class, I drew my mom and dad a picture. I want them to know how much I missed them.

I tried making a friend, but no one spoke to me at lunch either. I miss my old school and my friends.

I thought recess would be fun, but no one let me play on their team. I wanted to go home; I was so sad.

I thought this day would be different. Why doesn't anyone want to be my friend.

Hi, I'm Sebastian. Are you ok? No, I am sad because no one wants to play with me. "I will play with you," Sebastian said.

Come play with us. We need one more person to play a soccer game.

Everyone had so much fun playing soccer. It is better when you have friends to play with.

After recess, I got to play math games with my new friends. They even invited me to play soccer again tomorrow.

I was so happy to make friends today. I can't wait to tell my mom and dad about my first day of school.

Sebastian taught me that kindness should be shared to all. I will show kindness to others too.

How can you show kindness to others?
