A long, long way away, in Australia, there lived a beautiful dog on a farm – her name is Bluey. Bluey was a working dog and used to help the farmer by doing all kinds of jobs.

One day, the farmer turned to Bluey and said ‘ Bluey, the sheep need a haircut – they are looking very untidy.” Now, we use sheep’s hair to make wool.

Bluey jumped up and immediately went to work – collecting all the sheep into a field where the farmer could give them a haircut.

The farmers wife walked past and thought ‘ Hmmm – what a lot of wool – I wonder what I can do with it all, perhaps I’ll take some to knit a beautiful jumper.”

So the farmer’s wife did just that – she knitted the most beautiful jumper with the wool.

When she was finished she saw that there was still a lot of wool left over – she thought – “Hmmm – what a lot of wool – I wonder what I can do with it all, perhaps I’ll take some to knit a beautiful blanket.”

Now Sasa and Pops lived in Australia and one day decided that they really wanted to buy Sonny a present – they loved Sonny so so much. They went to the shop and asked the farmer’s wife if there was anything to buy for Sonny who lived in London.

The farmer’s wife thought for a while and said’ Hmmm, I have just the thing – why don’t you send Sonny this beautiful blanket – I knitted it from sheep’s wool that Bluey helped to collect from the sheep on our farm.”

Sasa and Pops were thrilled – they did just that and sent it to Sonny far away in London.

Sonny’s mum and dad opened the parcel and were so excited and put it straight onto Sonny’s bed.

Sonny went to sleep wrapped up in the beautiful blanket – it felt like getting a hug from Sasa and Pops every night.
