A creative expression of events/experiences across life stages.

I had this core experience with my sister when I was 12 years old and she was 13. I can still remember that since we were a child, we are in the custody of others, since our parents are working in far away places that hinder them from going home now and then. During that time, my mother and our elder sister decided to buy the “kamalig” or a granary which we converted into a small house. Although it is not yet that fully developed as a house, me and my sister manifested to our mother to live there instead. Just because we start to feel uncomfortable living in other’s houses and we and the salary that my mother sends us every month was being manipulated. After that, we shifted from having someone to command us what to do into an agreement to share household chores. We take both consequences if we fail to do our tasks, either one will get mad.

It was when I was asked by our former priest to consider religious life at the age of 18. I was really overwhelmed at that time and I wasn’t able to respond with a direct yes or no, but I left a room for consideration. I was like bombarded with uncertainties and confusion but I can say that I surpassed the level of Post-conventional Morality stage 6 at that event where I decided to enter despite of the uncertainty that lies beneath not because of any exterior reasons or motivations but because I felt like I was called to discover that calling.

When I’m supposed to choose program and university for college (after my senior high school ) I was asking myself why it seems so frightening to decide at that time yet I was led to another path which I never expected. This event shaped my foundational values as an emerging adult where I decided to have my own unusual path from what our family commonly have.

When I was a postulant, my roommate told me that she was hiding a cellphone which is strictly prohibited for us. She told me, that kailangan niya daw maka connect palagi sa mga nakababatang kapatid niya sa labas dahil naiwan sila sa kanilang bahay sa kaniyang ama na lasinggero. When our formator discovered or noticed perhaps which I don’t know how even I was the roommate. Hahahha that someone from us was hiding the cellphone, she called out our attention regarding that indirectly. Hahahha pero in a discreet way naman, nag ask ako for IC.
