Toddlers starting school for the first time experience stress and sadness because they are separated from their parents who they view as a safe space, but it is needed to develop independently so teachers do many things to help toddlers feel at home. and I will go over what teachers can do to help

Their are a few things teachers can do to help with separation. One of the main things is to create a safe space with materials that toddlers are comfortable with and that they can share with other toddlers to help develop social skills.

Another thing educators can do is to help children with separation is to make sure the toddler is comfortable with goodbyes even though they will cry and make it a big deal, this helps build trust within the toddler.

Educators have many students with many different problems but they can set up their classroom to help with separation by having activities that will have the toddlers near so they can touch and grasp to feel safe and secure. The educator also needs to be around in general to help toddlers feel secure.

One of the last things that teachers can do to help toddlers with separation is encourage children and their families to bring their favorite item it doesn't matter if it is a toy or a blanket something that reminds them of home is helpful way to combat separation within toddlers.

Overall toddlers deal with separation daily, getting to school is a struggle for them and a teacher needs to be prepared to help them deal with the feelings of anxiety and get them prepared to be independent.
