Waiting is Hard! But I can do it!
I love playing with toy animals at preschool! Sometimes my friends like to play with the same animals I do.
Sometimes I might have to wait my turn because one of my friends has the animal that I want.
Sometimes waiting can make me feel mad. It is okay to have those feelings.
When I feel mad, I want to yell, I can stop and take a deep breath. This can help me calm down before I use my words.
Instead of yelling I can use my calm voice and ask my friend if I can play next. I can say, "Can I have a turn when your done please?"
My friend might not be done playing yet, and that's okay. While I wait, I can take a deep breath to help my body feel calm.
While I wait for my turn, I can find something else to play with. There are lots of fun things I can do!
When my friend is finished playing, I can have a turn with my favorite animal! I can say "Thank you!"
Sometimes waiting my turn is hard, but that's okay! I can take a deep breath, use my calm voice and kind words, and find something else to play with while I wait. I am learning, and I CAN DO IT!
