My Little World: A Baby's Journey of Discovery
Reflexes (Birth-1Month) Meet baby Mia! When mia born, she learned about the world through her natural reflexes. when her mother touched her cheek, Mia turned her head toward her mother's finger. When something touched her mouth, she began to suck.
Primary Circular Reactions (1-4) Mia discovered that she could suck her thumb. she repeated this action because it made her feel comfortable. she also enjoyed moving her hands and watching her fingers.
Secondary circular Reactions (4-8months) One day, Mia accidentally shook a colorful rattle and heard a sound. She shook it again and again because she liked the noise. she began learning that her actions could make things happen,
Mia saw her favorite toy hidden under a blanket. She lifted the blanket to fing it. Now, she could plan simple actions to reach her goal. She also began to understand that objects still exist even if you cant see them.
Mia became a little explorer! She dropped a ball from different heights to see what would happen. After every drop the result was different. Mia learned by trying new things she can get different results.
Now Mia is 2 years old, she can remember where her toys are and look for them later. She also used a toy phone to pretend call her mom. Mia could think about things even when they were not in front of her.
During her first two years, Mia learned through her senses, movements, and experiences. According to Jean Piaget, babies actively explore their surroundings, and develop skills to help them think, remember, solve problems, and understand their environment.
