Unicorn
The silver mist parted and this totally majestic stallion walked into the moonlit clearing, and his hooves literally left glowing footprints on the damp moss which was so cool. He had this single, spiraled horn made of pure white ivory on his head and sweat was radiating a soft light, and it basically banished all the dark shadows in the ancient forest.
He stopped for a second because he heard leaves rustling in the distance, but then he lowered his head to take a drink from a crystal pool. As soon as the tip of his horn touched the water, ripples of brilliant gold spread everywhere, instantly cleaning the water and making a bunch of nightingales start singing in the trees.
Hidden in the bushes, this little girl was watching him and could barely breathe because her heart was hammering so fast while she held a basket of wild berries. The unicorn turned his deep sapphire eyes right toward her, but he didn't run away because he knew she wasn't trying to hurt him or anything
He walked over to her really slowly and nudged her hand with his nose, and it felt super warm against the freezing autumn air. In that exact moment, it felt like all the boring parts of the real world just disappeared and they had this silent bond of trust.
She carefully reached into her basket and pulled out this huge, half-frozen blackberry to show him she was friendly. The unicorn actually took it right out of her hand with his super soft lips, and his breath looked like silver smoke in the cold air, which was honestly the coolest thing ever. As he ate it, his horn started glowing and it literally made the freezing woods feel warm, like they were trapped in their own little bubble. Her heart finally stopped beating like crazy, and everything around them got so quiet and peaceful that it felt like they were the only two things alive in the whole universe.
Suddenly, a loud snap of a twig broke the silence, and the unicorn’s ears twitched as he stepped back into the shadows of the trees. He gave her one last long look with those crazy blue eyes before vanishing into the thick woods like he was never even there. The girl stood there for a second, totally frozen, looking down at her empty hand and the basket of wild berries. Even though he was gone and the freezing cold came rushing right back, she knew she would never look at the boring old woods the same way again.
